We train hard.
Since we train so hard, we also need to EAT HARD!
This is why I’m announcing a new feature on one thing we can all agree we love: AWESOME FOOD!
This little feature (aptly under the category of F*cking Delicious) will be updated regularly, and it will feature some of the best foods that I’ve tried, and that I think you’ll enjoy!
Now, even though these are awesome foods, we still need to EARN our food with hard training.
So TRAIN HARD, EAT HARD my friends!
Aaaannnnnddd without further ado, let’s dive into the introductory food:
Brown Cow Maple Cream Top Yogurt
Now you may be saying something to the tune of “Yogurt? Isn’t yogurt healthy???”
And I’ll say for the most part, it is.
That’s if you get the low-fat, low-sugar variety.
But this yogurt here is anything but low-fat and it’s definitely not low sugar, so yes, it should be looked at as a treat.
What we’re looking at is 6 grams of fat (3.5 grams saturated) and a whopping 19 grams of sugar per 5.3 oz.
As a result, this stuff is super creamy and sweet, and it’s also rich with maple flavor and pretty comforting in the dead of winter.
The first time I actually tasted this yogurt, I was blown away.
The fat rises right to the top, you can stir it in, skim it off, or save it for last.
A couple of bonuses also come with eating yogurt as a cheat food.
first, there is a good amount of protein (5 g per 5.3 oz).
Second, yogurt has live and active cultures (probiotics).
Thirdly, this yogurt is completely non-GMO, and has nothing artificial in it.
This all means you get a lot of bang for your cheat food buck!
Brown Cow, as a company, also seems to do business with integrity and transparency, which is totally a breath of fresh air.
I love doing business with companies and brands that care.
Where You Can Get It
You can get this yogurt on the Brown Cow website, or at any “upscale” grocery store (think Whole Foods).
Pricewise it’s pretty expensive ($1.09 for a 5.3 oz cup at my local Whole Foods), but hey, you have to indulge every once and a while right?
If you tried it, let me know in the comments how you liked it!
Hope you enjoyed this first installment of Cheat Food Friday!
Peace, and here’s to cheating without guilt! 🙂
