Have you ever been to Italy?
How about chocolate-peanut butter heaven?
Well, my good friend you’re in luck, because Talenti Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Gelato will take you to both places at the same damn time!
What is Gelato?
Gelato (pronounced jeh-LAH-toe) is an Italian dessert much like ice cream, with a few subtle differences.
One is that gelato (surprisingly) has a little less fat, and with less fat comes more of a flavor pop, a pop that gelato is famous for.
Another is that gelato is churned at a slower rate, which means it has less air, which makes it more dense, creating a creamier and smoother treat than ice cream.
Add all of this up, throw in some chocolate and peanut butter, and you have a combination worth writing home about!
The Creamiest of Them All
Yes, this stuff is creamy as all get out and bursting with chocolate-peanut butter flavor.
When you first dive your spoon into it, you notice how it just glides through smoothly like warm butter.
The peanut butter and chocolate combine in sweet matrimony and give your taste buds a wallop.
Yes, this stuff is rich, and Talenti is not playing around!
Although the actual gelato is damn good, it’s the well-placed peanut butter swirl and tiny little peanut butter cups that set it apart.
The swirl and the cups kind of break up the flavor, offering consistency and contrast that makes it a true joy to eat.
I found myself smashing the whole thing, which I don’t even feel bad about.
We earn our cheat food around here!
I will say though that nutrition-wise this gelato is super calorie dense, having about 260 calories per serving.
It says there are 4 servings per container (But I say yeah right!), and for each serving you get 14g fat (7g saturated fat), 31g carbs (29g sugar), and 5g of protein, making it something you don’t really want to eat too often, unless you’re looking to resemble a blimp.
The actual ingredients in it are acceptable.
There’s nothing horrible or frankenfood-ish going on, which is great.
4.5 out of 5 stars!
The only real con is the price, as it’s around $4.99 for a pint, but hey live a little, will ya! 🙂
